TGIS are proudly a Level 3 BBBEE contributor!

Here at TGIS, we have bought into and fully support the ethos of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment. We have a number of initiatives aimed at not merely scoring points for our scorecard but in creating sustainable improvements to the lives of the beneficiaries. We are truly broad based and aim to improve all spheres and levels of society equally.

We have a number of initiatives aimed at BBBEE.

We have an internship program where learners of geographical sciences, such as survey and cartography are offered temporary positions to complete their experiential and on the job training. Our interns are offered all our training courses free of charge as well as being exposed to rich variety of work.

We have donated a computer lab to a school in the Northern Cape as well as giving them free copies of all our software to encourage geographic learnerships. We were richly rewarded emotionally on this project and due to its success will scaling the project up and will be donating more labs. We also donate to a variety of causes which we believe to be worthy notably children focused NPO's.

We are actively seeking black companies to empower with our products, experience and resources. To shape, form and create 100% self sufficient companies to operate in the GIS environment and industry. We firmly believe in the philosophy of give a man a fish he will eat for day, but teach a man to fish he will never go hungry. We aim to create sustainable enterprises which will create jobs and further empower the communities themselves.

On contracts we always aim to find a suitable local company to supply labour, which we will train and then utalise for the scope of the project. This has to date left a large scale impact and has empowered many citizens with knowledge and aided in job creation.
